STATE INCENTIVES – HOW DOES ILLINOIS STACK UP?
Illinois provides a range of state tax incentives to encourage businesses to locate and/or expand in the state, however, many large corporations continue to look to nearby states for a more favorable environment.
To determine how Illinois’ incentive packages actually compare to other Midwest states, the NAIOP Chicago Legislative Committee requested assistance from Cushman & Wakefield’s Business Incentives Practice to draft a general comparison of select types of incentives specific to Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin.
This report provides a state-by-state comparison from 2010-2015 of the key incentive programs offered, the amount of incentives provided and the composition of these incentives by industry type.
