1. What led you to work in the Real Estate industry?
I tried out a few majors in college and ultimately chose Real Estate at Wisconsin as it felt like you were learning an industry rather than a specific role. At the time I was keeping my options open but was really looking for a career at the intersection of dealing with people and analytics.

I’m currently focused on all aspects of the development / acquisition process in Chicago. Primarily focused on leasing our existing portfolio and sourcing new acquisitions.

2. Who has been the biggest influence in your career?
All of the Partner’s at Bridge have been immensely helpful to my career and personal development – I view all of them as close friends and mentors. Nick Siegel, in particular, has been an excellent mentor and I appreciate all of the guidance he has offered.

3. Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?
I love my current role and would be very happy if I was doing the same work just more efficiently in 5 years.

4. How long have you been involved with NAIOP and what do you view as the benefits of your NAIOP Developing Leader membership?
4 years. I’ve found the Developing Leaders membership extremely beneficial – it is great to meet the people in similar roles and hear how they are overcoming the same obstacles you are facing.

5. What is the most important lesson you have learned during your career?
Focus on being excellent at your current role rather than strategizing on the next role. Typically doesn’t land exactly how you think it will.

6. What is the best piece of professional advice you have been given?
‘Be in the market’ – go to all of the events, build relationships with everyone in the market.

7. What characteristics do you consider most important in your role and in the industry?
Responsiveness and authenticity.

8. Where is your “hidden gem” location in Chicago?
Aberdeen Tap – best bar in the city.

9. What is your favorite building in Chicago?
Bridge Point Melrose Park II – available for lease now!
