Emi Adachi

Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Research
Heitman

Emi Adachi is a Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Research at Heitman. She is an equity owner of the firm. Emi leads the North American and Asia Pacific research teams, overseeing strategy development and underwriting for all private equity and debt investments. Emi also manages ongoing research support for Heitman’s portfolio, including sitting on the firm’s Valuation Committee. Additionally, Emi analyzes demographic and technological trends and their impact on real estate investment strategy and portfolio construction. Emi is a co-founder and Board Member of People of Color & Allies (POCA), one of Heitman’s employee resource networks. Previously, Emi was the Director of North American Investment Research and Co-Head of Global Research Operations.

Emi received a BA with honors in Urban Studies from Stanford University. She is a member of the Urban Land Institute Global Exchange Council, Stanford Alumni Real Estate Council, the NAIOP Chicago Board, and the Lambda Alpha International Ely Chapter.

Barrie Bloom

Managing Director
Macquarie Capital

Barrie Bloom joined Macquarie Capital, a division within Macquarie Group in March 2020.  At Macquarie, Barrie helps lead a team to invest the firm’s balance sheet capital across real estate equity and debt opportunities within the US.  Barrie is responsible for sourcing acquisitions and debt originations along with the post-closing asset management.  Since joining Macquarie, she has sourced and executed on opportunities within the hospitality, office, and SFR sectors.  In her role as leading the asset management of numerous investments, Barrie has completed multifamily refinancings, industrial dispositions and substantial leasing in both the industrial and office sectors.

Prior to joining Macquarie, Barrie was a senior vice president at GEM Realty Capital where she spent seven years as a member of both the acquisitions and asset management teams.  For acquisitions, Barrie sourced opportunities, coordinated due diligence efforts, and lead negotiations of joint venture and purchase and sale agreements.  As an asset manager, Barrie was involved in all facets of asset management of residential, industrial, and office assets.  Representative transactions at GEM included, Barrie’s oversite and expansion of a $300 million SFR platform, acquisition and development of a 900 acre industrial development, and acquisition and asset management of a $90 million condo conversion.

Prior to joining GEM, Barrie was a vice president at PCCP, LLC, a finance and investment management firm, where she focused on workouts of mezzanine loans, acquisitions of distressed properties, and originations of senior loans from 2010 through 2013.  In 2008 and 2009, she was at Lehman Brothers Real Estate Mezzanine Funds where she worked to restructure leverage facilities and distressed properties. Prior to attending business school, Barrie was a loan officer at LaSalle Bank in the for-sale residential division.  Barrie received a Masters of Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, in 2008 and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2003.

Laura Hyde

Managing Director, Investments – Central Region
Link Logistics Real Estate

Laura is Link’s managing director, Investments, overseeing acquisitions for the Central Region.

Laura has been with Link since 2019, joining the firm through its integration with Talos Capital, where she began working in 2017. At Link, she has completed acquisitions of more than 300 buildings totaling over 42 million square feet valued at more than $4 billion. Prior to Talos, Laura was a senior financial analyst with Pritzker Realty Group, where she worked on over $127 million of industrial acquisitions and ground-up developments representing 2.1 million square feet. Before Pritzker, she was an associate at Oak Street Real Estate Capital and a private equity analyst at Morgan Creek Capital Management.

Laura earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Cornell University. She is a member of Industrial Women in Real Estate, the Urban Land Institute and serves as the 2024 Goldie Gala Vice Chair.

Steve Disse

Principal and Vice Chair
Colliers

Steve Disse has been with Colliers International for 29 years and serve as a principal of the Chicago office. He focuses on investment sales of institutional quality industrial and office properties in Chicago and the Midwest ranging in value from $5 million to $300 million. He teams with Jeff Devine to form Chicago’s most active industrial investment sales team. Their team consistently holds a 50 to 60 percent market share of Chicago area industrial investment sales and has closed over $1.5 billion in sales over the last 24 months. This past year, they received the 2019 NAIOP Industrial Investment Transaction of the Year Award for brokering the sale of the Fountain Square Commerce Center in Bolingbrook, IL.
