1. What led you to work in the Real Estate industry? Describe your current responsibilities:
I got into commercial real estate by landing an internship at Hilco Real Estate during college, thanks to a friend who was also interning there. It ended up being my first job after graduation.
Now, I handle Midwest acquisitions for Faropoint. I spend my time finding deals, underwriting them, managing due diligence, and closing transactions.
2. Who has been the biggest influence in your career?
Jordan Nathan (Kovalsky) has been the most significant influence on my career. She has taught me a great deal and has been an incredible mentor.
3. How long have you been involved with NAIOP and what do you view as the benefits of your NAIOP Developing Leader membership?
I have been involved in NAIOP for three years, and it has been extremely beneficial. It’s a great place to connect with peers and brokers who are developing leaders. Additionally, there are excellent programs, such as the mentorship program, which I participated in during my first year as a member.
4. What are your future career goals?
As Faropoint continues to grow, I look forward to learning as we add new vehicles and strategies and continue to grow within the organization!
5. What was one thing that has surprised you about your career?
One thing that has surprised me is how small and close-knit the Chicago real estate community is. It is a pleasure to work with such kind, fun and motivated people.
6. What is the most important lesson you have learned during your career?
Your network is one of your most important assets. It can help you in so many ways, whether it’s getting advice or gathering market intel.
7. What characteristics do you consider most important in your role and in the industry?
I think being determined, dependable, and fair are some of the most important traits in my role.
8. Outside of work, how do you enjoy spending your time?
I love to travel and spend my weekends wandering around the city, trying out new restaurants!
9. Where is your “hidden gem” location in Chicago?
My hidden gem is Milton Lee Olive Park, just past Ohio Street Beach!
